Cardiology Consultation

A cardiology consultation is usually requested by your family doctor, general care provider, a surgeon or other specialists who want to have a cardiac specialist, known as a cardiologist, evaluate you.  

A cardiology consultation is usually requested if you have a known cardiac problem or condition or if there is a possibility you could have a cardiac problem or condition. It may also be part of a general health check-up, depending on your age and other related health issues.

You can take a few steps to prepare for your consultation and ensure you get the most out of the process. 

• Prepare a list of any medications you are taking. 
• Bring a list of other recent medical exams and tests. 
• Be aware of your family's heart history. 
• Write down a list of any concerning symptoms you have experienced. Be sure to write down how severe they are, how often you experience them, and when you started to notice the symptoms.  
• Write down any questions you have that you want to ask the cardiologist. 

At the start of your consultation, Dr. Ahiable will start by conversing with you about your health history, family heart history, and any concerns you have. 

We will take your blood pressure, weight, and height measurements. Dr. Ahiable will conduct a physical examination. 

Based on your conversation and initial physical examination, you may need cardio health testing, including:  

• Cardiac angiography
• Echocardiography
• Stress testing
• Electrocardiogram
• Heart Monitor
